What Is Conditional Sentences?
Conditional Sentences express that the action in the main clause can only take place if a certain condition is fulfilled. Conditionals describe the result of a certain condition. Conditionals have two clauses: The if clause and the Main Clause. The If clause tells us the condition ( If you study Hard ) and the main clause tells us the result ( you will pass your exam ).
شرطیہ جملے ایسے جملے ہوتے ہیں جن کے ایک حصے ( یعنی if clause ) میں کوئی شرط بیان کی جاتی ہے۔ جب کہ دوسرے حصہ ( یعنی main clause ) میں اس شرط کا نتیجہ بیان کیا جاتا ہے۔
Types Of Conditional Sentences
There are four types of conditional sentences which are as follows:

- Conditionals Type 1

Zero Conditionals
Zero conditionals are used to talk about generally true things, especially laws and rules. They describe situations where something always happens if a certain condition is met.
شرطیہ جملوں کی اس قسم میں ایسے جملے بیان کیے جاتے ہیں جو عمومی یا عالمگیر سچائی پر مشتمل ہوتے ہیں۔ عموماَ ایسے جملوں میں قوانین یا اَصول بیان کیے جاتے ہیں۔

| If you are honest, all is safe. | اگر آپ ایماندار ہیں تو سب محفوظ ہے۔ |
| If wealth is lost, nothing is lost. | اگر دولت ضائع ہو جائے تو کچھ بھی ضائع نہیں ہوتا۔ |
| If you heat ice, it melts. | اگر آپ برف کو گرم کرتے ہیں تو یہ پگھل جاتی ہے۔ |
| Ice melts if you heat it. | اگر آپ اسے گرم کرتے ہیں تو برف پگھل جاتی ہے۔ |
| If it rains, the grass gets wet. | بارش ہوتی ہے تو گھاس بھیگ جاتی ہے۔ |
| The grass gets wet when it rains. | بارش ہونے پر گھاس گیلی ہو جاتی ہے۔ |

Conditionals: Type 1
This conditional tells us that something will happen if a certain condition is fulfilled. The condition may or may not be fulfilled. It generally tells about the future situations that we think are real or possible.
اس قسم کے شرطیہ جملے ہمیں یہ بتاتے ہیں۔ کہ کوئی کام تب واقع ہوتا ہوگا۔ جب اس سے منسلکہ شرط پوری ہو گی۔ اس طرح کے جملے ہمیں مستقبل کی ایسی صورت حال کے بارے میں بتاتے ہیں جو ہمارے خیال میں حقیقی یا یا ممکن ہو سکتی ہے۔

| If I study hard, I will pass the exam. | اگر میں محنت کرتا ہوں، تو میں امتحان پاس کر لوں گا۔ |
| If she exercises regularly, she will lose weight. | اگر وہ باقاعدگی سے ورزش کرتی ہے، تو وہ وزن کم کرے گی۔ |
| If you water the plants, they will grow. | اگر آپ پودوں کو پانی دیتے ہیں، تو وہ پودے ترقی کریں گے۔ |
| If we leave early, we will avoid traffic. | اگر ہم جلدی اُٹھیں گے تو ٹریفک سے بچیں گے۔ |
| If you save money now, you can travel later. | اگر آپ اب پیسے بچاتے ہیں، تو آپ بعد میں سفر کر سکتے ہیں۔ |

Conditionals: Type 2
Conditionals of this type are used to express the situation that is not likely to happen or that is impossible. In other words, in this type, we talk about something that we do not expect to happen or which is purely imaginative.
اس طرح کے شرطیہ جملوں میں ہم ایسی صورت حال بیان کرتے ہیں جس کے وقوع پزیر ہو نے کا کوئی امکان نہیں ہوتا۔ دوسرے الفاظ میں کوئی ایسی بات جس کے ہونے کی ہمیں توقع نہیں ہوتی یا ایسی بات جو بلکل تصواراتی ہو۔

| If I had a car, I’d visit you. | اگر میرے پاس کار ہوتی تو میں آپ سے ملنے آتا۔ |
| If it wasn’t raining, we’d go for a walk. | اگر بارش نہیں ہوئی تو ہم سیر کے لیے جائیں گے۔ |
| She’d understand if you explained it. | اگر آپ اسے سمجھائیں گے تو وہ سمجھ جائے گی۔ |
| With more sleep, I’d be more focused. | زیادہ نیند کے ساتھ، میں زیادہ توجہ کروں گا۔ |
