What Is Clause In Urdu?

The Oxford Dictionary Defines a clause as a group of words that includes a subject a verb and a form of sentence or a part of sentences.

آکسفورڈ ڈکشنری کے مطابق Clause الفاظ کا ایک ایسا مجموعہ  ہوتا ہے جو subject اور verb پر مشتمل ہوتا ہے۔ ( یعنی subject اور  اس کا Predicate ) اور جملہ یا جملے کا کوئی حصہ بناتا ہے مثلاَ

• The Sun Shines.
• I will visit you after you invite me.
• Please Help me.

Types Of Clause

There are four main types of clauses which are main clause or independent clause dependent clause, noun clause, and relative clause. We will discuss all the types in this lesson. Stay with it and keep scrolling down.

Main Or Independent Clause:

In Traditional English Grammar, The main clause consists of a subject and its predicate. It gives a complete Sense. It can stand its own.

Main clause ایسی Clause پر مشتمل ہوتی ہے جو Subject اور اس کے Predicate پر مشتمل ہوتی ہے۔ اور ایک مکمل مفہوم کی حامل ہوتی ہے۔ یہ Clause اپنے طور پر الگ استعمال ہو سکتی ہے۔

• I am Busy.
• Asia is doing her homework.
• When he entered his home his mother was cooking rice.
• I will come to you only when you call me.

What Is Phrase And Its Types

Subordinate Or Dependent Clause:

As you know we are talking about the What Is Clause Definition And Its types with Examples In Urdu. Subordinate or dependent clause comprises a subject and its predicate but this clause cannot stand alone. It imparts complete sense only when attached to an independent clause. It means it depends on something else in the sentence to express a complete thought. That is why it’s called a dependent clause. Subordinating clauses function in the sentence as adjectives nouns and adverbs.

Subordinate clause ایسی کلاز ہوتی ہے جو subject اور اس کے Predicate پر مشتمل ہوتی ہے۔لیکن یہ کلازز اپنے طور پر مکمل مفہوم تب دیتی ہے۔ جب یہ independent clause کے ساتھ استعمال ہوتی ہے اسی لیے اسے dependent clasue کہتے ہیں۔یہ کلاز جملے میں Adjective noun اور Adverb کا کام دیتی ہے۔

• We should go home before the sun sets.
• When the movie ended. the audience applauded.
• She went to bed although she was tired.
• Because it was raining, we stayed indoors.

Dependent Clauses are further divided into Noun clauses, adjective clauses, and adverb clauses.

Noun Clause

A noun clause functions as a noun in the sentence. This clause starts with words like How, That, what, whatever, when, where, which, who, why.

Noun clause جملے میں noun کا کام انجام دیتے ہیں۔

Examples

• I do not know how you did it.
• Do you know where he has gone?
• I don’t care what he does.
• She tells me which thing she needs.
• Do you know why he did this?

What Is Phrase And Its Types

Adjective Or Relative Clause:

An Adjective clause is a group of words that does the work of an adjective. It modifies nouns or pronouns in the sentence so it starts with a relative pronoun like That, which who, whom, whose.

Adjective Clause ایک ایسی کلاز ہوتی ہے۔ جو جملے میں Adjective کا کام انجام دیتی ہے۔یہ کلاز جملے میں موجود noun یا pronoun کے بارے میں مزید بتاتی ہے۔یہ relative Pronoun سے شروع ہوتی ہے

• I saw a man who was bathing in the stream.
• The letter brought money which was badly needed.
• I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me.
• The dog that bites does not bark.
• My friend who is in my class fellow has a gun.

Adverb Clause
