What Is Tenses?
As you know, we are talking about the present indefinite tense in Urdu, known as the simple present tense. Tense refers to the time of action in a sentence. It’s like a verb or way of telling you when something happened, is happening, or will happen. Imagine tenses as time travel for verbs!

Present Tense:

The present Indefinite Tense also known as the simple present tense is a workhorse in English grammar. It is used to tell about things that continuously happen in the present like every day every week or every month. It’s used to express a variety of things like habits and routines, general truths, or unspecific present actions.
اس Tense کا استعما ل انگریزی زبان میں بہت زیادہ ہوتا ہے۔ اس کا استعمال ان چیزوں کے بارے میں بتانے کے لیے کیا جاتا جو بار بار یا مستقل طور پر ہوتی ہیں۔ جیسے ہر روز ہر ہفتے یا ہر مہینے۔ اسے مختلف چیزوں کو ظاہر کرنے کے لیے بھی استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔ جیسے عادات اور معمول General truth یا وہ کام جو ابھی اس وقت غیر معینہ مدت تک ہو رہے ہوں۔
اُردو میں پہچان
- اُردو فقرے کے آخر میں تا ہے، تی ہوں، تا ہوں یا ، تے ہیں آتا ہے۔
Positive Sentences
Subject + Verb 1st Form + Object
اگر جملہ میں کسی سخص کا نام یا singular Noun, He, She, it ہو تو verb کے ساتھ ” S ” یا “es” کا اِضافہ کیا جاتا ہے۔
اگر جملہ میں subject کے علاوہ کوئی لفظ ہے یعنی plural Noun, you, They, wہو تو verb کے ساتھ ” S ” یا “es” کا اِضافہ نہیں کیا جاتا ۔
Examples
| He goes To School | وہ سکول جاتا ہے۔ |
| The sun rises in the east. | سورج مشرق سے نکلتا ہے۔ |
| We drink water. | ہم پانی پیتے ہیں۔ |
| She reads a book. | وہ کتاب پڑھتی ہے۔ |
| They play cricket. | وہ کرکٹ کھیلتے ہیں۔ |
| We play football. | ہم فٹ بال کھیلتے ہیں۔ |
| He always criticizes Others. | وہ ہمیشہ دوسروں پر تنقید کرتا ہے۔ |
| We love our country. | ہم اپنے ملک سے محبت کرتے ہیں۔ |
Negative Sentences
Subject + Does not/do not + verb 1st form + Object
اس جملہ میں do or Does کا استعمال کیا جات ہے۔
اگر جملہ میں کسی سخص کا نام یا singular Noun, He, She, it ہو تو does not استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
اگر جملہ میں subject کے علاوہ کوئی لفظ ہے یعنی plural Noun, you, They, wہو تو do not استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔ اور یاد رہے منفی جملوں میں verb کے ساتھ “s” یا “es” کا اضافہ نہیں کیا جاتا۔

| It doesn’t rain often here. | یہاں اکثر بارش نہیں ہوتی۔ |
| Ho doesn’t eat vegetables. | وہ سبزیاں نہیں کھاتا ہے۔ |
| I don’t tell a lie. | میں جھوٹ نہیں بولتا ہوں۔ |
